1860 edition of Lilly’s Astrology, published to counter the anti-Astrology sentiments of the 19th Century; William Lilly was England’s most important Astrologer, his introduction being an indispensable text on the subject; includes numorous charts and text figures, and two gate-fold illustrations; this edition includes A Grammar of Astrology and Tables for Calculating Nativities by Zadkiel (Astrologer Richard James Morrison); 3/4 calf, textured brown boards, gilt titling to spine; heavy foxing to title page, endpapers and prelims, scattered foxing throughout (occasionally heavy), heavy tanning to second gate-fold; pages of the Zadkiel section universally tanned; remains of label to foot of title page, partially obscuring publisher and date (although date can be made out); leather scuffed and worn.
