Battered copy of The Intimate Henry Miller notable for the accompaniment of a letter from the Commonwealth of Australia Department of Customs and Excise, dated 15th July 1965, reading “Dear Madam, I refer to an examination of your personal effects imported per ‘Kloosterkerk’ reported Brisbane 16 June 1965, when the publication ‘The Intimate Henry Miller’ by Henry Miller, was detained by an officer of this Department. The publication has now been reviewed and released, and is being returned to you under separate cover. Yours faithfully, D.K. Campbell Collector of Customs, Qld.”; book in poor condition, in two sections, and with rear cover present, but loose.
