Scarce publication presenting the attractions of Newcastle and surrounds as they were in the 1930’s; produced by the Tourist and Publicity Bureau Newcastle City Council; Nobbys Beach, Lake Macquarie, King Edward Park, Wyong River, Tea Gardens, Surfing and Surf Lifesaving, etc; b&w photo illustrations throughout, and with lots of nice period advertising; Art Deco style front cover showing an illustration of the Lighthouse by Australian artist/cartoonist Norman Rufus Morris; stapled wraps, top staple loose (wraps holding to lower staple); mild creases to some pages, occasional mild offset from b&w illustrations, o.w. Very Good throughout; wraps edgeworn and fairly heavily rubbed.
