1st hardback edition, being a collection of material (letters, reports and articles) relating to events in the Anglican Diocese of New Guinea during the years of WWII; b&w illustrations, front endpaper map; includes the original wrap around title band (with red and black Church Stores label over original price); watermark to lower half of both sides of rear board (with rippling and staining) and less prominent to rear endpaper, endpapers tanned, o.w. Good throughout; title band lightly rubbed and with some tape-repair to inside at folds; includes a newspaper article regarding the death by beheading of Father Vivian Redlich at the hands of Japanese soldiers, and also a leaflet containing a poem ‘The Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels’ and with a photo illustration of the angels carrying injured soldiers.
