Two issues of The Lux Book, a 1930’s Australian knitting magazine, originally a promo for LUX soap and laundry products, the front cover of the 1933 issue stating “This book must not be sold….only available to customers who purchase Three Large Size Packets of Lux”; now a scarce item with or without the soap; Instructions for knitting pullovers, scarves, berets, woolen vests; beginners crochet (golf socks, doyleys); embroidery, gay new ideas for tea cosies, headwear, etc; b&w photo illustrations throughout, and including some nice period advertising; 1933 issue with staples rusting (but holding), wraps rubbed and foxed to rear, occasional mild foxing, o.w. Very Good throughout; 1937 issue a little tired, with scattered foxing, and creases to corners of pages, o.w. G-VG throughout – wraps rubbed and with dampstain lower rh front.
