Collection of cartoons by J.R. Hager (aka “Dok”), cartoonist for the Seattle Daily Times, all featuring ‘The Umbrella Man’, a character originally created by Hager in 1909 to accompany the newspaper’s weather report; notable minimal book/page-design (no introduction, preface, afterwords etc), the cartoons showing vivid orange areas, all set on brown paper (which looks something like old shopping-bag paper); generally Good throughout, with some tanning to pages, and occasional rippling; text block darkened; boards rubbed and foxed, with dampstain to edges (more prominent to rear board at spine).
