3 carved woodenfigures of women’s faces (with elaborate headdress) in profile, showing ‘Liquica’ wood-burned to undersides of bases, c1970’s, from the collection of (retired) ethnologist Malcolm Wilson, who travelled widely through Africa and South East Asia in the 1950’s-1970’s; each carved from a single piece of wood, with figures sporting ear-rings (and with elongated ear-lobes), headpieces to sides and hair combed up in an abstract topknot; abstract motifs to bases; sizes and designs vary slightly from one to the next; all Very Good.
